This image tile is part of an orthophotography project covering contiguous areas of interest in and adjacent to the jurisdictional boundary of the Denver Region Council of Governments (DRCOG) in central Colorado. The project is known as the Denver Region Aerial Photography Project (DRAPP) begun and completed in 2008. The tiles are images which depict color digital aerial photographs acquired in the spring of 2008 during leaf-off conditions and in early summer of 2008 over mountainous areas to minimize snow cover. Lens and terrain distortion have been removed and tonal differences between adjacent images have been minimized to form a mosaic of the entire project area. The project area includes The Denver Metropolitan area and both eastern plains and western mountains adjacent to the metro area. Orthorectified imagery is assumed to depict features at ground level, so above ground features may show some distortion from elevation. The only exceptions to this are bridges and elevated roads, which have been checked for distortion and manually replaced by their previous unrectified versions. Each orthorectified pixel is exactly one half foot square in the metro area and one foot square in the plains and mountain areas. Quality and accuracy of this orthophotography was evaluated independently. The image products conform to American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Class I Standards for 1"=200' horizontal mapping. Project coordinate systems were based off the Colorado State Plane Central Zone projection with the horizontal datum North American Datum 1983 (HARN) and vertical datum North American Vertical Datum 1988 and units of US Survey Feet. Transformed projections and datums available in this project include; Colorado State Plane Central Zone NAD83, US Feet; Colorado State Plane North Zone NAD83 (HARN) , US Feet; Colorado State Plane North Zone NAD83, US Feet; and Universal Transverse Mercator Zone 13 NAD83, Meters.
			<purpose>The orthophotography is useful as a layer in a Geographic Information System (GIS) and is intended to aid in planning, digital map revision, and spatial analysis. It is not intended to furnish measurements accurate enough for engineering design work.</purpose>
			<supplinf>The orthophotography is also available in compressed JPG 2000 and MrSID file formats. Also available are compressed and uncompressed formats supporting 4-band data constructs.</supplinf>

		<complete>Aerotriangulation results for all raw imagery was checked for horizontal accuracy. All visible control points were checked in orthorectified imagery for horizontal accuracy. All bridges were checked for warping during the orthorectification process and corrected. All imagery was checked for consistency of color balance across the entire project area. Twenty percent of final tiles were chosen at random for total visual inspection at full resolution to determine frequency of misplaced seamlines and other potential quality issues. Independent data acceptance testing was completed by IntraSearch/Mapmart located in Greenwood Village, CO and included accuracy testing, visual inspection, and conformance to predefined acceptance criteria.</complete>

			<horizpa>
				<horizpar>The horizontal positional accuracy and the assurance of that accuracy depend, in part, on the accuracy of the data inputs to the rectification process (elevation data, aerotriangulation control and methods, camera calibration, and source imagery parameters). These parameters are reviewed post orthorectification against the output imagery and initially validate the product is in compliance with ASPRS standards. Additionally, NSDI Part 3 Chapter 3 - (http://www.fgdc.gov/standards/projects/FGDC-standards-projects/accuracy/part3/chapter3) outlines process for determining horizontal RMSE and 95% confidence level for accuracy. Data deemed useful for this validation include independent higher accuracy geodetic control, GPS ground surveys, photogrammetric methods, and databases of high accuracy point coordinates. Check point locations are generally distributed more densely in the vicinity of important features and more sparsely in areas that are of little or no interest. This data set has uniform positional accuracy thus the points are spaced so 20% of the check points are located in each quadrant of the dataset. A complete accuracy test and certification was performed by IntraSearch/Mapmart and is available from DRCOG.</horizpar>
				<qhorizpa>

					<horizpae>ASPRS Class 1 Mapping Standards for 1"= 200' horizontal require an RMSE of 2.0' be achieved. Control points that were used to aerotriangulate the positions of the images at time of exposure were identified in the orthorectified images and found to be displaced not more than three pixels. All other ground features therefore should not be displaced from their true locations by more than an average of three pixels. Features not on the ground, such as building rooftops or trees, may be displaced.</horizpae>
