American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Funding

DRCOG had the responsibility to select projects in the Denver region using American Recovery and Reinvestment (AARA) funds in two categories, surface transportation program funding and enhancement funding. This list shows the projects selected to receive funds in each category by the DRCOG Board of Directors on March 4, 2009 (amended March 18, 2009).

Continuing its efforts to quickly and efficiently get ARRA funds to work in the Denver region, the DRCOG Board acted at its August and September 2009 meetings to reallocate cost savings from already selected ARRA projects whose bids came in lower than anticipated. More savings may accrue through the process and will be allocated as available.

Surface Transportation Program (STP) Funding Category (Funds available = $55.9 million)
STP is a federal funding category - funds may be used for a variety of purposes, including roadway construction, reconstruction, resurfacing, restoration and rehabilitation; roadway operational improvements; capital costs for transit projects; highway and transit safety improvement; bicycle and pedestrian facilities; scenic and historical transportation facilities and preservation of abandoned transportation corridors.
