Creating Transit Supportive Land Use Regulations

Creating Transit-Supportive Land-Use Regulations

Abstract: This is an excellent resource for planners faced with the challenge of creating codes, standards and design guidelines that balance the needs of diverse, sometimes competing groups such as automobile drivers, transit riders, bicyclists and pedestrians.

The report is organized into chapters on transit- and pedestrian-friendly site design, parking, mixed-use development, and increasing density to support transit. Each chapter presents an array of implementation issues along with a variety of code language to address different circumstances and regulatory types.
