 Utility Plan Guidance

Wastewater Utility Planning

Wastewater utility planning assists local governments and utilities in addressing environmental concerns and wastewater management needs. The Wastewater Utility Plan Guidance Document, originally prepared in July 1999 and updated in 2007, provides the information needed to prepare a utility plan for DRCOG review. All entities preparing a Colorado Water Quality Control Division required "Site Location Approval Application" should consult this guidance document for materials required for 208 planning agency review and comment.

DRCOG staff and the Utility Plan Review Team work closely with local governments and utilities to review and process utility plans. All wastewater treatment providers are encouraged to have an accepted utility plan before processing a site approval with the Water Quality Control Division.

Entities preparing either a lift station report or an interceptor report should reference the appropriate chapter in the Guidance Document.
