For Regional Transportation Plan
Comment The following was copied from the Denver Post article about last night's DRCOG meeting: "........ David Hamm, president and chief executive officer of Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, asked DRCOG directors to back the parkway authority's request. The toll highway would help many of the medical center's employees get to and from work, Hamm said. "This is an important beltway completion for us." " I submit that Mr. Hamm's comment is nonsense. Most low income and many middle income wage earners will choose not to work an hour or two every day just to pay tolls. They will drive toll free highways that will become even more congested as a result of the tollway. That's the current situation for workers at DIA. They are not driving the E-470 tollway and traffic there is way down from projections. Hopefully, our elected officials will learn something from this. Thumbs down on Arvada's Porkway.
