Denver Regional Council of Governments staff develop the Unified Planning Work Program biennially to detail the interrelated surface transportation and development planning activities to be accomplished collaboratively in the region by DRCOG, the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Regional Transportation District and local governments.
The document lists all planning activities and tasks that use federal transportation planning funding. It also details other major planning activities performed by local governments and partner agencies.
The 2024-2025 Unified Planning Work Program (October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2025) was adopted by the DRCOG Board on August 16, 2023, and amended last in December 2024.

DRCOG has also developed a draft 2026-2027 Unified Planning Work Program, covering October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2027. This draft document is current out for public review, closing July 7. The draft 2026-2027 Unified Planning Work Program will be placed on the Board of Directors meeting agenda in August.
